On Apple or Android devices: Simply open your phone or tablet’s camera, scan the QR code, and it will take you directly to the move submission page. No special app is needed.
On a computer: If you prefer, you can type the short web link into your browser and make your move that way.
 
Our story character (the “mystery challenger”) replies with their countermove in the following letter, weaving the game directly into the unfolding narrative.
 
Any chess board can be used to follow along with the adventure. However, for families who want a smoother experience, we offer an optional wooden magnetic chess board (available at an additional cost) designed especially for kids. The magnetic pieces stay put — perfect for little hands and travel — and the board can easily be reset each time a new letter arrives, matching the exact position shown in the diagrams.
 
At the end of the year, you’ll also have the option to order a hardcover bound book (additional cost) that preserves your child’s entire adventure and unique chess game — a keepsake they can treasure forever.
